New
Zealand’s largest rooftop solar project, the 5.3MW Fisher & Paykel
Healthcare project, has been successfully connected to the grid.
Clenergy provided its SolarRoof rooftop solar mounting solution and RUNNUR cable management system for the project. The project not only sets a new benchmark for the scale of a single solar installation in New Zealand, but also stands as a landmark example of green energy transformation.
Located
in Auckland, New Zealand, Fisher & Paykel Healthcare is one of the world’s
top three manufacturers of respiratory care devices. The company has fully
utilised approximately 70,000 square metres of rooftop space across its campus
to develop a 5.3MW distributed solar project. According to estimates, the
project will generate more than 6.6 million kWh of clean electricity annually and
reduce carbon dioxide emissions by approximately 486 tonnes each year.
Jonti
Rhodes, Vice President of Supply Chain, Facilities and Sustainability at Fisher
& Paykel Healthcare, said that investing in renewable energy is not only an
important step in fulfilling corporate social responsibility, but also a core
strategic investment with long-term value. He noted that working with partners
who share the same values and provide reliable technology and professional
service was a key factor in the successful delivery of the project.
Medical
manufacturing facilities operate with a high level of production continuity,
while their rooftop conditions are often complex. This places extremely high
demands on the structural safety, installation efficiency and environmental
adaptability of solar mounting systems. For this project, Clenergy provided its
SolarRoof rooftop solar mounting solution, which is made from high-strength
aluminium alloy. The system ensures structural stability while minimising the
overall weight of the mounting structure, effectively reducing the load
pressure on the large-scale rooftop.
SolarRoof
enables fast assembly. Its patented Z-module can be inserted into the rail from
either the side or the top at any position, with no on-site cutting or welding
required, significantly shortening the construction period. Meanwhile, ezClick
components adopt a “no hole alignment required” design. The guided slot allows
module frames or rails to slide smoothly into place and be secured immediately,
eliminating the need for manual hole alignment. Combined with high-strength
aluminium alloy and stainless steel fasteners, the overall load-bearing
capacity of the connection points far exceeds that of traditional single-bolt
fixing solutions, ensuring the system remains free from slippage or loosening
even under extreme weather conditions.
In
addition, the RUNNUR cable management system supports horizontal splicing,
directional bending and vertical radius transitions. Equipped with a dedicated
high-efficiency drainage structure, it quickly channels rainwater from the
rooftop, preventing water accumulation, leakage risks and module shading. This
provides all-round protection for the factory’s rooftop structure.
Looking
ahead, Clenergy will continue to deepen its presence in the global commercial
and industrial distributed solar sector. Through more professional products and
services, Clenergy is committed to helping industries worldwide accelerate
their energy transition and contributing solid support to the achievement of
carbon reduction goals.
